Lizards

Oh, these lizards
they are such wizards.
They are so fast,
as they run past.
I love to see them slither
as they move hon and hither.
They look like a small crocodile,
each time I see them, I smile.
Sometimes my cat brought one into the house;
goodness, moving faster than a mouse.
Just trying to catch one
keeps me on the run.
I do want to put them outside,
watching them under a stone to slide.
Be safe, little lizard,
don’t end up in a bird’s gizzard.
