Naked

Naked, I step into the water
Gentle waves carry me
To where the dolphins wait
Together we swim,
Frolic, dance,
Their tender voices
Singing the song of Love.
Nearing the island
Once so far away
They circle once more
I see
From the other shore
His boat.
I see
Him coming across the water
And my heart meets his
Long before he is there.
On land, on the soft white sand
Of our island
He opens his arms,
The sleeves of his robe
Closing around me:
I am safe.
In the hammock of Love
We dream, murmuring
In the embrace of sleep,
Until the sun goes down
In the shadow of night
We return, each of us,
As we must,
To the distant shores
Until we meet again.
