Listen, oh Listen
Someone once said:
Wake up,
Kick ass,
Repeat.
It woke me up to find the words
for this plea:
If I tell you my worries,
my sorrow and travail,
please, please,
do not analyze the actions
of why the others acted as they did,
do not admonish me to look
for new friends,
create a new community;
do not tell me that their lives are so busy;
or worse, how loving your own family
and friends are towards you;
or: you will be all right
(Just get on with it!)
Wake up to the pain
you hear in my voice.
Wake up your heart
(and abandon your mind
for now),
be with me in this moment of sadness.
Wake up,
Kick ass,
Repeat.
It woke me up to find the words
for this plea:
If I tell you my worries,
my sorrow and travail,
please, please,
do not analyze the actions
of why the others acted as they did,
do not admonish me to look
