INCANTATION
Hard times have come over our lands.
Hurricanes have torn homes from their foundations,
leaving behind a wide path of death and destruction.
Water, floods, have swept away lives,
the very memories of many who could not flee.
Earthquakes had cities crumble,
burying men, women and children,
the hopes of many gone forever.
Fire came, devouring all that stood
in its way, leaving thousands homeless,
those that got away in time.
The great threat, the black cloud of nuclear destruction
hovers above all, filling us with fear
and uncertainty.
Amidst all this devastation, this darkness
miracles happened:
people came together, people who had never met before,
helping each other, neighbors, strangers
opening their homes, their arms, their purses, their hearts.
This time cries out to us
for us to weave the fabric of our relationships,
our families, tighter, more lovingly;
to let go of hurts, real and perceived
for we all have said things we wish we hadn’t,
done things we wish we hadn’t,
not done things we wish we had.
This is the time to come together,
embrace each other, unique as we are.
We know not how long we will be granted
this precious gift of life.
Let us fall in Love again,
our Hearts coming together
in compassion and enlightenment.
May it be so.
