To Whom It May Concern

I wish I had the wings of a bird,
with the clouds and wind I could flirt.
I have to admit
how wonderful to rise above all for a bit,
singing aloud: look at me,
I am feeling so free! So free!
I’d fly to perch on your heart,
singing: see, we’re not apart,
bringing you the nectar of love
in the form of a sweet little dove,
filling your life with its cooing,
with its tenderness you wooing,
lifting your spirit out of the dark,
to rise up and sing like a lark.
